Funding for Apprentices

A number of government funding opportunities are available for employers that take on Apprentices, although funding is prioritised toward young Apprentices. Our Business Development Team will help you with funding to lower the cost of taking on an apprentice.

The primary funding opportunities are:

  • AGE 16 to 24 grant. Businesses that employ up to 1,000 employees and have not employed an apprentice in the last 12 months may be eligible for an Apprenticeship Grant for Employers of 16 to 24 year olds (AGE 16 to 24) worth £1,500. Click here for more information.
  • Job Centre initiatives. Offers various initiatives, including 160,000 wage incentives worth up to £2,275 each for employers who take on an eligible 18-24 year old through Job Centre Plus, or the Work Programme.
  • Local Authority grants. Various grants are available across Darlington, MiddlesbroughNorth Yorkshire & Humber.
