Gaining part time employment whilst you study is a great way to gain work experience, as well as earning some money to support you throughout your college life. The transferrable skills gained whilst working part time or on a voluntary basis are essential for that next step after college, whether it’s looking for your first full time permanent position or applying to university.

Our unique JobPod service can support you in looking for that all important first part time job while you study. The JobPod has got loads of great resources including winning CV designs, job interview techniques and Higher Education guides. You can catch up on all the latest job news, who’s hiring, who’s expanding and who’s planning for the future near to where you live. Find out where the jobs are going to be by using our up to date links to labour market information so that you can plan for your future.

As a student at the college, registered on the JobPod, you will automatically get updates of the latest vacancies direct to your phone or email, we can point you in the right direction and help you complete application forms, or we can do a practice run through of that first job interview before the real thing happens.

Whether you want to use our dedicated website,, or would prefer to speak to someone, the JobPod service can be accessed through Guidance Services in the LRC. With vast experience in a range of vocational settings and working with a range of learners of all abilities and ages, our professionally qualified advisers will get you on the right track.

Accessing the service:

The Guidance Team are available in the LRC Monday – Thursday 8:30am -5pm and Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm

Appointments can also be made for confidential, personalised 1:1 guidance.
