A Darlington College NCTJ Journalism trainee has landed his first job with a North-east news agency.

David Huntley, 25, has been appointed video reporter with North News and Pictures Agency, based in Newcastle, two weeks before completing his NCTJ Multimedia Journalism Diploma at Darlington College.

David studied video journalism for online on his diploma along with reporting and ethics, media law, court reporting, public affairs and shorthand.

He now joins a team of journalists and photographers covering the North of England for national and regional newspapers and magazines.

David, an English and Creative Writing graduate of Sunderland University, said: “I am really lucky to have this opportunity to work as a video journalist and without the skills on the NCTJ course I wouldn’t have been able to get it.”
