Some of the UK’s leading brands have been named as sponsors for this year’s European Senior Tour English Senior Open at Rockliffe Hall
Next month’s three-day event takes place on the August Bank Holiday weekend, from Friday 22nd until Sunday 24th, with a sold out pro-am tournament on Thursday 21st, and follows the success of the 2013 tour, which attracted over 5000 spectators to Rockliffe Hall and the surrounding area.
A range of nationwide event sponsors have recently been confirmed so far including YESSS Electrical, Heineken, Darlington College, Seabourn and Travel Bureau, Seaham-based DDR Staffing Solutions and Arc Wealth Management.
Official suppliers for the English Senior Open include Hildon Water, Heineken, Bibendum Wines, golf-fitting experts Cleveland Srixon, Deli Fresh and Sweet Spot, suppliers of nutrition bars.
And, for the second year running, the Northern Echo is Rockliffe Hall’s media partner for the English Senior Open.
Former Ryder Cup captains, Ian Woosnam OBE, Mark James and Sam Torrance OBE have confirmed they will go head-to-head in the English Senior Open, along with other major names in European golf including Costantino Rocca, Barry Lane, Des Smyth, last year’s winner,Steen Tinning, and Paul Wesselingh, who won last year’s Order of Merit.
Warwick Brindle, chairman ofRockliffe Hall, said: “Last year’s event was such a great success that we have had a lot of interest from businesses wanting to get involved and associate themselves with what is going to be the biggest one-off sporting event in the North East this year. The names confirmed to play are some of the biggest in golf and promise an incredible weekend of golf. We’ve been really flexible on package options so that they appeal to a host of organisations with varying budgets and we’re really pleased that so many are now on board for next month.”
This year’sEuropean Senior TourEnglish Senior Open at Rockliffe Hall will also include a charity partnership with Catterick-based Help for Heroes Phoenix House Recovery Centre, which works with recovering veterans and service personnel. In the pre-tournament pro-am event, Rockliffe Hall will be sponsoring a team from Phoenix House, who will undergo a period of intensive golf coaching with Rockliffe Hall’s PGA professionals and Paul Wesselingh, to bring them up to pro-am standard.
