Entrants take part in Kettlebell Sport Development Competition

On the 22nd March a team of 11 travelled to Harrogate for a Kettlebell Sport Development Competition. Amongst the 11 TU NOVA KETTLEBELL SPORT TEAM, 3 were students of Darlington College; Yu Chan, Emily Park and Ryan Simpson.

All three students did exceptionally well within the competition and achieved personal bests. Emily won her division, for which she was presented with a Gold Medal.

Steve Gordon, Coach and England Kettlebell Team Member said “I am very impressed with the dedication that the team have put in to prepare for the competition. Achieving personal bests shows the enthusiasm and effort that has been put in by the students through their enrichment programme at the College.

“The group is constantly growing and we hope more students will compete in the next international competition held in Darlington. This particular competition will allow athletes to qualify for team England so hopefully some of the students, if they train hard enough will earn a place on the England squad!”

If anyone wants to find out more about Kettlebells, training takes place every Tuesday and Thursday from 12pm-1pm at the college gym.
