Connecting to College
Connecting to College is a taster day for full time course applicants. The main event takes place on:
Thursday 27 June 2013 from 9.15am to approximately 4.30pm.
The event for applicants who have applied for the Next Steps course will take place on Tuesday 9 and Wednesday 10 July 10am - 2pm.
During the day you will enjoy a taste of college life and take part in a range of activities relating to the course you have applied for. This is an ideal opportunity for you to get to know tutors and fellow students who you will be working with when you start your course in September. It will also help you to make sure that you are on the course that is the most suitable for you. If you have applied for more than one course you will need to choose which course to attend for this event.
On arrival at college, staff wearing green tops will be available to help you find where you need to go. Tutors will meet you at the stand for your course/area close to the front of the college. Tutors will then escort you to where you will start you taster day.
Please bring a notepad and pen with you. Some applicants will be asked to bring additional items such as sports clothing. Please note you are not expected to buy any particular safety wear such as steel toe capped shoes; a pair of sturdy shoes will be suitable for workshops during this event.
At lunchtime support staff will be available to answer any questions you may have on Student Finance (travel, childcare, kit etc), Guidance (if you are not sure you are on the right course), Admissions (application status and if you want to change course) and Student Support (mentoring and learning support).
Please confirm your attendance at Connecting to College by Monday 17 June. We need to know your name, which course you are attending and if you need any additional support during the event.
