Subject Overview

Following the success of our MGFA Football and education programmes delivered at Darlington College since 2012 we have now extended our academy offer in partnership with premier league footballer and Darlington Football Club Manager Martin Gray.

The new academies are designed to aid and develop natural skill and achieve sporting supremacy.

Each academy gives you the opportunity to represent teams or professional bodies in competitive sport whilst combining your training with an industry recognised educational qualification. There is also the added bonus of being able to attain additional coaching qualifications as part of this programme. Some of our most successful students have gone one to represent England and also take part in FA cup matches.

Martin Gray said of the new academies:

“I am really excited to be working with Darlington College on the development of Sporting academies for BTEC students. We will be bringing some of the regions leading sporting personalities together to deliver the program’s with us at the highest level”
