Subject Overview

In the UK, the Automotive industry employs more than half a million people, in all kinds of vehicle related jobs. Did you know that millions of cars are designed and manufactured in the UK every year? Anything from Aston Martin to the Mini and not forgetting other machinery such as JCB, bus and truck vehicles are all made in the UK. The UK is also the worldwide hub for Motorsport. Several Formula 1 cars are designed and built right here in the UK, along with specialist vehicles such as land speed record cars, touring cars and track cars.

If this sounds right up your street, then the Automotive department can get your engine started with a range of courses designed to give you the best route to employment within the industry. We have courses at all levels, which are planned carefully to get you on the ladder in either the Automotive maintenance and repair industry, or the Automotive body and paint repair sector.

Currently we have full time courses ranging from level 1 Diplomas up to level 3, where you will study and gain practical skills in our fully equipped Automotive workshops and classrooms, or we can offer Apprenticeship training in light vehicle, heavy vehicle and body repair,  which could lead to an advanced Apprenticeship qualification, where you can earn while you learn!

We also offer a range of professional development courses including mobile air conditioning and bespoke packages for industry training.
