Course overview
This is an exciting course which uses a mixture of art, design and creative media to help you develop confidence, industry knowledge and skills in order to progress on to a Level 2 qualification. This course is perfect for creative thinkers and will teach you the relevant skills needed to develop your original ideas and artistic flair. You will be expected to learn basic theory and complete practical projects in a range of areas including; art, design, mixed media, photography, video and audio, and enterprise activities. You will also learn about the many fantastic job opportunities and progression routes within the creative arts and media sectors to help you begin your journey towards subject specific specialisms. If you are interested in photography, game design, 3D design, TV and film, fine art, textiles or graphics, then this course is an excellent starting point for you.
If you have not achieved a grade 4 or above in English or maths then you will be required to work towards this as part of your study programme. Work experience is embedded into your course through live assignments and industry relevant units. The college will support any students who are keen to explore work experience opportunities outside of the classroom.
