Subject Overview

Here at Darlington College we offer the helping hand you need to start your career within the health sector whether this is nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, occupational therapy or paramedics.

Our Health and Social Care courses guarantee you a wealth of knowledge as during your studies you’ll also be able to gain additional qualifications such as Dementia Awareness and Manual Handling which will enhance your skill set.

We offer a range of courses from level 1 up to level 3 for both employment and progression to university. All courses have work placement as an essential element of the courses giving you the opportunity to gain practical skills in real work environments. Placements provide opportunities to experience working in nursing homes, day centres for adults with learning difficulties, adult mental health and nurseries which, could open the door to full time employment at the end of your course.

We have a team of vocational experienced tutors who are highly skilled in their field of work and will be able to guide you to success.
